Configuring Privacy Controls

SageRift products are built on a "Privacy by Default" philosophy. However, we give you granular control over how aggressive these protections are.

Global Privacy Levels

You can set a global privacy auditing level in sage://settings/privacy.

Tracker Blocking

We maintain a proprietary blocklist combined from open-source intelligence (EasyList) and our own honeypot network.

To view what's being blocked on a specific site:

1. Click the Shield Icon in the address bar.
2. Expand Trackers Blocked.
3. You will see a list of domains categorized by type (Advertising, Analytics, Social, etc.).

Whitelisting a Site

If a site breaks because of tracker blocking:

1. Click the Shield Icon.
2. Toggle the Protection switch to OFF.
3. The page will reload with standard protections disabled for that domain only.

Fingerprint Scrambling

Browser fingerprinting identifies you based on your device's unique characteristics (screen resolution, fonts, battery level, etc.).

SageBrowser fights this with Noise Injection:

• Canvas: When a site asks to render a hidden image, we subtly alter the pixels. To the human eye, it looks normal. To a hash function, it's unique every session.
• AudioContext: Similar to Canvas, we add imperceptible noise to audio processing signals.
• UserAgent: We spoof the most common UserAgent string for your OS version to blend in with the crowd.

Network Protection (VPN)

Every SageBrowser installation includes a rigorous 3-hop VPN.

To enable:

1. Toggle the VPN switch in the sidebar.
2. Select your exit node region.

Note: P2P traffic is allowed on specific "Secure Core" servers, marked with a specialized icon.

Data Retention

We do not store logs.

However, local logs are kept on your machine for debugging. You can configure auto-deletion policies:

1. Go to sage://settings/privacy.
2. Scroll to Data Retention.
3. On Exit: Select "Clear Browsing Data" to wipe all history/cookies when the browser closes.
